At least one person killed in house fire on Detroit's west side

DETROIT (WWJ) — A 44-year-old man has died after a fire broke out at a home on Detroit’s west side Thursday afternoon. The fire happened in the area of Patton and Glenco, near 7 Mile and Evergreen shortly before 5 p.m. WWJ Newsradio 950's Tim Pamplin reported from the scene when firefighters arrived to the home, the man's mother was outside and told them he was in the basement.
